Indian Summer

Here in Nevada we have enjoyed the Indian Summer with warm temperatures all through October.  My wife did a wonderful job this year building a vegetable garden and we were spoiled with fresh (organic) vegetables all through the summer and part of this fall. The cale that we have in our garden is the same kind that my dad used to grow when I was a little boy and my mom made good 'stamppot' dishes with the cale, potatoes, bacon and sausage . It has kept me warm during the harsh fall and winter weather in Holland. I introduced the 'stamppot' dishes to my family when I moved to Reno and they all love it.
